


There are also studies that provide detailed accounts of the Sufi position regarding the female and feminine in Islam (see, Elias 1988 also, Bashir 2011). These have also addressed particular issues in relation to gender, religion, society, culture, and politics within the context of Sufi history, with some focusing on the study of Sufi women from various regions of the world, including the Near and Middle East, the Subcontinent, North Africa, Indonesia, and North America (see, Diaz 2015 Pemberton 2010 Taheri 2011 Shaikh 2012 Abbas 2002). Recent notable studies have successfully captured the role and significance of women in the history of Sufism.
